BIOL 40163 - Ornithology

Prerequisites: Six semester hours in Biology. This course will consist of two one-hour lectures and one three-hour laboratory each week. The laboratory portion of the course will enhance the lecture topics by providing hands-on experiences with using molecular methods, analyses of vocal communication, identification of Texas birds to species and worldwide species of birds to order, and field trips. During field trips the emphasis will be on learning to identify common species of Texas birds in different habitats.
