Neeley Special Education Institute provides an environment for innovation and change in special education through exemplary teaching, research and community outreach. The Institute fosters collaboration among TCU faculty and others nationally to ensure the highest standard of education and services to children with disabilities and their families. The mission is to serve the needs of children and youth with disabilities and their families in three ways:
Starpoint and KinderFrogs Schools The mission of the laboratory schools is to educate students and serve as sites for teacher preparation, practicum experiences, and educational research. Starpoint and KinderFrogs provide a variety of volunteer opportunities for TCU students. Both laboratory schools are members of the National Association of Laboratory Schools. Starpoint provides a high-quality educational program for students with learning differences, ages 6-12 years. It is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. KinderFrogs provides developmentally appropriate education for preschool children with Down syndrome and other developmental delays. It is licensed by the Texas Department of Family Services and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
